A woman with long black hair, tattoos on her arms and chest, wearing a black lace dress, and sunglasses on her head, standing in front of a large tree outdoors

My first rabbit was a gift. His name was Henry. I was 30 years old and had no idea that one small animal was about to quietly rearrange everything.

He taught me patience. He taught me that gentleness is not weakness. He taught me the kind of presence that only comes from sitting still with a creature that trusts you completely. And when I lost him, I didn't step back. I went further in.

I started volunteering with rescues in San Diego, then Orange County. Cleaning cages. Sitting with animals that came in matted and scared and unsure whether people were safe. I taught myself to groom because nobody was going to teach me and I needed to know. I kept showing up until I was good at it. Then I kept going.

What I kept noticing was the gap. Owners who genuinely loved their animals had no idea about diet, handling, housing, or what it actually costs when something goes wrong and you can't find a vet who understands rabbit physiology. That's not their fault. Rabbits get sold as easy pets and handed off without a real education attached. Lux Bunny exists to close that gap. One rabbit, one owner at a time.

Henry started it. Charlie Brown, Lucy, and Woodstock carry it forward. They are not mascots. They are the animals this business was built around and the standard every client's rabbit is held to.

The reason this exists

A fluffy hamster with light brown fur is sitting on a towel, chewing on a piece of wood, with scattered wood pellets around it.

Lux Bunny was built with the rescue community in mind. If you are a rescue organization, a rabbit-knowledgeable vet, or anyone working to improve the lives of rabbits in Southern California, we want to know you.
